Abstract
Abstract The study was conducted to know the which characteristics of a girl students influence to prefer a certain career which was taken place in Post Graduate Institute, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola, Maharashtra. Girl students of M. Sc. (Agri.) were selected for the study 60 respondents from 1st year and 60 from 2nd year. The study revealed that there was negative and non-significant relationship between father’s education and mother’s education of the girl students with their career preferences at 0.05 and 0.01 level of probability respectively. There was negative and non-significant relationship between participation in extra-curricular activities of the girl students with their career preferences. Academic achievement, mass media exposure, achievement motivation, risk preference of the girl students had positive and significant relationship with their career preferences at 0.01 level of probability.
