Abstract
The present investigation was carried out to estimate heterosis for and grain mold resistance parameters in Kharif sorghum [Sorghum bicolor(L.) Moench]. Ten parental lines were crossed in half diallel mating design and from these 45 crosses were generated. Heterosis studies inforty-five hybrids revealed that, out of forty-five hybrids studied, ten hybrids were found to be desirable. These hybrids not only exhibitedsuperior per se performance for field grade mold rating (FGMR), Threshed grade mold rating (TGMR) and germination percentage but alsoshowed desirable significant heterosis for other associated characters. These crosses also showed desirable and significant sca effects forThreshed grade mold rating (TGMR). Thus, these ten crosses appeared to be resistant to grain mold and need to be utilized, to obtain potentialsegregates for improvement of grain mold resistance
