Abstract
An on farm trial was conducted at the existing teak and mango orchard of the farmers field to investigate the performance of two medicinal plantsviz. aloe vera (Aloe indica), and aswagandha (Withania somnifera) in teak and mango based agroforestry system during 2020-21. The trial waslaid out in a randomized block design with seven replication. Three treatment combinations were: T1- Teak + individual two medicinal plantsbased agroforestry system; T2- mango + individual two medicinal plants based agroforestry, and T3- individual two medicinals plant in open state.In the open state, sole cropping of medicinal plants received100% sunlight; while teak based system and mango based system were allowed 53 to58% sunlight for the growth of the two medicinal plants, respectively.
