Abstract
The present study was conducted in Prayagraj District of Uttar Pradesh. A total of one hundred respondents were selected randomly. Thedata were gathered using pre-structured interview schedule. The study revealed that average cost of cultivation of paddy per hectare wasincurred Rs. 42763.93 which was found to be Rs.46866.08, Rs.42119.009, Rs.39306.7 per hectare on marginal, small and medium farmersrespectively. Input-output ratio related to cost C was (1:1.14) (1:1.40) and (1:1.61) on marginal, small and medium farms respectively.Onoverall average per farm investment to total assets on farm building, machinery implements, irrigation structure and livestock accounted for63.13, 19.10, 18.20 and 3.18 per cent, respectively. Cropping pattern of the sample farm for paddy per cent area to gross cultivated showsincreasing trend with increasing size of farms.
