Abstract
The present study was conducted in prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh, from Out of total blocks of Prayagraj district one block has beenselected purposely on the basis of large or maximum farms of poultry production for current study. The poultry respondents were divided intothree size groups on the bases of number of birds raised viz. below 500, 500-2000 and above 2000. The data were collected through surveymethod with the help of schedule. The study revealed that the average capital investment per farm in small, medium and large size groupswere Rs.36153.76.Rs.100655.4 and Rs.192990.4 respectively. The net costs of maintenance per farm in small, medium and large size groupwere Rs.34850.06, Rs.99459.24 and 181361.8 respectively. These shows as the size of farm increases there are decreases in the cost ofproduction and increases in the profitability of the farm.
