Abstract
Tomato is one of the most important vegetable crops cultivated for its fleshy fruit. Tomato is considered as important commercial and dietaryvegetable crop. Tomato is protective supplementary food. The study focused on the analysis of production and marketing constraints of tomatoamong rural farmers in Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh.A total of 60 respondents were interviewed using questionnaire. The overallfindings of the study reveal that the cost of cultivation of tomato were highest on medium size farm group Rs. 32593.13, followed by small sizefarm group Rs. 31199.24 and marginal size farm group Rs. 30874.10 respectively. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics to describethe socio-economic characteristics of the farmers and Garrett ranking technique was used to rank the constraints. High Cost of PPCChemicals and lack of skilled labor for packing were the major constraints the farmers were facing.
