Abstract
The present study was conducted in Imphal East District of Manipur. A total of one hundred twenty respondents were selected randomly. Datawere collected using pre-structure interview schedule. The study revealed that the average cost of cultivation of HYV paddy per ha(Rs.61892.37) is higher than average cost of cultivation of Black aromatic paddy (Chakhao) per ha (Rs.54639.15). The cost of cultivation perha of black aromatic paddy for marginal, small , semi- medium and medium size farm groups was found to be varied from Rs.58504.56,Rs.54529.98, Rs.53548.29 and Rs.51973.77 respectively. The cost of cultivation per ha of HYV Paddy for marginal, small,semi medium andmedium farm size groups was found to be varied from Rs.66166.91, Rs.62218.57, Rs.60675.29 and Rs.58508.67 respectively.
