Abstract
Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) is an economically important plant species due to its delicious edible fruits and pharmaceutical andornamental usage. The present study was done to optimize the different concentrations of the hormones, to increase the multiplication rate of,Pomegranate (punica granatum L.). The media was prepared as a basal medium supplemented with 0.5 to 1.8 mg/L 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP),0.6 to 1.0 mg/L 1-naphthalacetic acid (NAA), 1 mg/L silver nitrate (AgNO3) and 60 mg/L adenine sulphate for initiation stage. Maximumaverage number of nodes 3 with average height 3.5cm per explants was achieved on MS medium supplemented with 1.8mg/l BAP, 0.9 mg/l NAA,1 mg/lAgNO3, and 60mg/l Adenine sulphate for the initiation. For multiplication stage, 0.5 to 1.5 mg/L BAP, Kn (0.5 and 1.5mg/l) and 0.5 mg/lGA3 were used.
