Abstract
A study was conducted to investigate the cost and return of mustard production in Lahar block Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh. For the research purpose, a list of mustard growing villages prepared then five villages selected randomly. After selection of villages a list of mustard growing farmers prepare and classified into different size of farm viz. small, medium and large then 15 farmers selected from each categories so total 45 mustard growers selected for the research. Cost of cultivation and cost of production was calculated with the help of cost concept including break even analysis, B: C ratio, gross income, total production etc. On the basis of aforesaid study an average B:C was observed ratio1:1.8 which implied performance of mustard in the study area was found superior in terms of profitability and economic return.
