Abstract
The study was conducted in Solapur district of western Maharashtra which belongs to rainshadow area. 120 beneficiaries of Per Drop MoreCrop (PMDC)Yojana were selected randomly from Barshi and Madha tahsils. Data were collected on the profile characteristics ofrespondents and impact of PDMC Yojana on beneficiary farmers was studied with the help of pre structured and pretested interviewschedule. The results indicated that overall 31.14 per cent decrease was observed in water requirement of crops while majority (37.41%)decrease in water requirement was observed during summer season. Overall 37.93 per cent increase observed in water use efficiency of cropwhile majority (55.69%) increase was observed during rabi season. 36.66 per cent of respondents had more than and equal to 3506.06 mmwater requirement before adoption of PDMC Yojana while after adoption only 1.67 per cent of respondents had more than and equal to3506.06 mm water requirem...
