Abstract
A field experiment was conducted at Agronomy Farm, Department of Agronomy, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola duringrainy season of 2016-17, to study the effect of preparatory tillage systems on soil physical properties and soybean productivity. Theexperiment was laid out in randomized block design with three replications, assigning eight different tillage treatments. Experimental resultsrevealed that deep tillage treatment of ploughing + 2 tyne harrow + blade harrow (PTtB) recorded maximum plant growth characters andyield of soybean but remain statistically at par with treatment 1 Ploughing + 1 Tyne Harrow + 1 Rotavator (PTR). Conversely the lowestvalues of growth characters and seed yield were found with treatment zero tillage (ZT). Other tillage treatment recorded intermediatevalues.
