Abstract
Engineering education contributes a major share to the overall education system in India and plays a vital role in the development of nation. Libraries are the vital components for imparting quality engineering education. The study examines the status of the engineering college libraries in the state of Maharashtra with reference to the availability of staff, library collection, physical and infrastructural facilities, library services and ICT application. The data required for the survey was collected from the total 86 engineering college libraries situated in the state of Maharashtra and affiliated to the nine different universities in the state of Maharashtra. The engineering colleges were broadly categorized in the two types i.e. Aided and Unaided and the data analysis is made accordingly.
