Abstract
Groundnut shelling has been done by hand (manually) and also simple machines have been devised for use in shelling for example in theNorth -Eastern part of India, groundnut shelling was done using a bamboo crusher. Traditional method of shelling groundnut givesdrudgery, more time consuming shelling techniques, loss of seed due to carelessness of labour, problem of labour in peak season, highwages of labour etc. Hence to avoid this issue there is need of power operated groundnut decorticator. The power operated groundnutdecorticator was fabricated and it was found that Broken seed was 13.96 per cent at 12 mm clearance and 21.06 per cent at 7 mm clearance.Decorticating efficiencies were 97.78 per cent , 98.43 per cent,for 12 and 7 mm clearance respectively and cleaning efficiency was 85.71per cent 78.93per cent at 12 mm and 7 mm clearance respectively, cleaning efficiency decreases with decreasing clearance, input capacitywas 45 kg/h at...
