Abstract
The present investigation was devised to observe the radiation dose effects of gama rays on the germination and seedling vigour parametersof okra varieties. Seeds of two okra varieties Arka Anamika and Arka Abhaya were treated with gamma radiation at doses of 30 kR, 50 kRand 80 kR. Eleven seed and seedling related characters were studied in response to the mutation treatments along with the control. Theanalysis of variance and DMRT results indicated the presence of remarkable difference among the treatments. Traits such as number ofnormal seedlings, germination percentage at first count, germination percentage at second count, field germination percentage, mean shootand root length, germination speed, survival percentage and vigour index were observed to be declining with the increase in dose of theradiation.
