Abstract
The aim of the present study is to examine the impact of profile characteristics namely: age, gender, marital status, serviceexperience, in-service trainings undergone, place of working, workload, leadership, sound technical knowledge, attitude towards job,organisational stress, organisational climate, job involvement, promotional opportunities and job satisfaction on the job performance of theagricultural scientists. The regression analysis performed to gauge the contribution of these characteristics towards ones performance. Thekey findings indicates that out of fifteen variables, place of working (X6), job involvement (X13) and job satisfaction (X15) have shownpositive significant contribution with the dependent variable job performance at one per cent level of probability. However, variable age(X1) and attitude towards job (X10) had shown positive significant contribution at five per cent level.
