Abstract
Antioxidantactivity in various extracts, i.e., methanol, acetone, ethyl acetate andwater (aqueous) prepared from leaves of Nardostchys jatamansi wereevaluated in order to develop the database for applicability of this criticallyendangered high value medicinal plant. Highest total antioxidant activity wasobserved in S-3 leaf methanolic extract where as leaf acetone extract showedthe maximum ferric reducing antioxidant power. The best IC50 (Inhibitory concentration for 50% scavenging activity) values for DPPH,superoxide radical and hydrogen peroxide scavenging activity (113, 151.08 and94.12
