Abstract
India exports spices from times ancient and is the largest producer, purchaser and exporter of spices within the world. Indian spices trade ininternational markets accelerates the expansion of Indian economy. Studying changes in the export of spices and spice products from Indiato different countries, can improve the welfare of domestic growers. During this regard, an attempt was prepared to quantify the everchanging structure of Indian spices exports. The main objective of this study was to examine the direction of trade in spices and spiceproducts export. Data associated to quantity of spices exports from India was collected from Spices Board, Cochin for a period of 2002-03to 2017-18. The Markov chain analysis was computed and the results of revealed that Canada was the stable market for India in terms ofblack pepper (24.92%) and curry powder (28.72%).
