Abstract
Performance of agriculture in the state mainly depends on weather condition. Rainwater is the main source of water for irrigation as anirrigation system in the state is not fully developed. Hence the present study was carried out to examine the effect of area and weatherparameters on the productivity of selected major crops viz rice, maize, total pulses, oilseeds, vegetables. Path coefficient analysis has beenused to identify the direct and indirect effects of the yield components towards the productivity of crops. The secondary data on agrometeorological parameters are collected from the ICAR Research Complex for North Eastern Hill Region over the period 1997-2016.Correlation analysis revealed that except maize, the yield of all crops exhibited positive and significant correlation with their area.
