Abstract
Safflower (Carthamus tinctorious L.) is an important rabbi oilseed crop of the India. Intensive agriculture results in wide spreadmicronutrient deficiency in India. Zinc, Ferrous and Sulphur becomes the limiting factor for obtaining the optimum growth and higher yieldof safflower. Field experiment was carried out to study the effect of zinc, ferrous and elemental sulphur on growth and yield of safflower atAll India Co-ordinated Research Project (AICRP) on Safflower,Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Agriculture University, Parbhani(Maharashtra) during Rabi season of 2009-10. The results shows that the application of 30kg ZnSo4 per ha with RDF (T3)was foundsuperior over all the treatments. It improves the growth parameters viz. plant height (97.69 cm), number of leaves per plant (73.03), numberof primary branches (14.50) and secondary branches per plant (34.90), stem girth(5.08 cm)with higher dry matter accumulation (161.43 g )and absolute grow...
