Abstract
Effect of some insecticides viz., chlorpyriphos, profenophos, cypermethrin, deltamethrin, bifenthrin, lambda cyhalothrin and imidaclopridon feeding of rice brown planthopper, Nilaparvata lugens (Stal) was investigated in green house experiment during kharif 2017 at RARS,Maruteru, A.P., India. Bifenthrin @ 0.50 ml l-1recorded the highest feeding (measured as area of honeydew excretion, 496.00 mm2 whichwas 383.12% increase against 102.67 mm2in control). It was also found that bifenthrin (496 vs. 255.33 mm2), chlorpyriphos (326.33 vs.164.33 mm2), profenophos (317.67 vs. 196.00 mm2), lambda cyhalothrin (268 vs. 149.33 mm2) and imidacloprid (225.33 vs. 135.33 mm2)resulted in significantly higher feeding indices at half of the field recommended doses than the corresponding field recommended doses. Onthe other hand, cypermethrin (285.00 vs. 167.67 mm2) and deltamethrin (215.67 vs. 144.33 mm2) at recommended field dose registeredsignificantly...
