Abstract
The present study was carried out in Parbhani town of Marathwada region in Maharashtra state. Thirty women aged between 25-55 yearswere purposive randomly selected, surveyed and experiment was carried out, with the objectives to study the exertion perceived by femaletailors as well as musculoskeletal and psychological problems experienced by female tailors while performing selected activity stitching.Results indicated that majority of female tailors were having age ranged between 25-35 yrs., weight ranged between 35-55 kg. and range ofbody height was 146-155 cm., belonging to nuclear families, having 2-4 members in the family. Monthly income of the families rangedbetween Rs. 7000-22000/-, earned Rs. 2-4 thousand per month. Majority of female tailors had more than 10 yrs. of experience in tailoring.It was noted that highest score for perceived exertion indicated that female tailors experienced very severe exertion for paddling (3.4),fo...
