Abstract
Weather is the most crucial factor which affects the growth and yield of finger millet crop. Crop weather models cannot be judged withindividual weather parameter alone. Therefore combinations of various weather parameters are taken into consideration to define the cropyield. The combinations of various weather parameters will make different agro meteorological indices. This study was carried to understandthe crop weather relationship for various finger millet varieties based on agro meteorological indices (such as growing degree days (GDD),heliothermal unit (HTU), photothermal unit (PTU) and temperature difference (TD)). The day wise data of all climatic factors were collectedfor six years from 2009-10 to 2014-15 from AICRP on dry land agricultural project, GKVK, UAS, Bengaluru. Crop weather models weredeveloped using indicator variables and the model was chosen based on F-value, P-value, Coefficient of determination, and standard er...
