Abstract
The present study was conducted in north-eastern transition zone of Karnataka to investigate the major constraints faced by IFS farmersunder dryland condition. The data was collected from three taluks viz., Basavakalyan, Aland and Chincholi of north-eastern transition zoneof Karnataka by personal interview method. In the study large majority (96.61 %) of IFS farmers expressed that high cost of inputs was majorconstraint followed by fluctuation in market price of agricultural produce (88.14 %), lack of own resources like labour, seed materials, FYMetc. (83.05 %), lack of support from developmental departments (64.41 %). Further IFS farmers expressed some of suggestions to overcomethe constraints such as, adequate credit and subsidy should be given to farming community (83.33 %), agricultural inputs should be atcheaper rate and easily reachable to small and marginal farmers (82.22 %) and government should focus more on low cost farmmech...
