Abstract
In recent years, rural youths from Assam state has been started out-migration to other states for livelihood. The present study explored thepush and pull factors of interstate out-migration, major push and pull factors for such out-migration. The survey was conducted with aninterview schedule with interstate out-migrants at destination place Hyderabad. Respondents were selected based on the snowball technique.First, the study analysed to find out the push and pull factors for interstate out-migration. Secondly, to describe the more important push andpull factors were determined by applying Principle Component Analysis. The findings showed multiple reasons of push and pull factors. Nonavailability of the job at home place, low family income, encouragement of relative and friends were some important push factors found inthe study.
