Abstract
Raw mangoes in India are mostly used as pickles and chutneys.The developed manually operated raw mango cutting machine consists of the main frame, tray, cutting unit having cutting blades and cutter guide, handle and pedal lever and spout. The machine was easy to operate with higher output capacity of 40-60 kg/hr. The average of 10 subjects for Body Part Discomfort Scores (BPDS) score for raw mango cutting machine was 22.30 and 24.70 for test 1 and test 2, respectively. The overall discomfort rate for first and second test were 3.70 (More than light discomfort) and 4.90 (Moderate discomfort), respectively. The mean value of heart rate during operation for test 1 and 2 were 110.30 and 113.60 bpm (beats per minutes), respectively. The variation in heart rate amongst the subjects for doing the same operation was due to difference in subject
