Abstract
Medicinal plants are one of the important components of plant biodiversity, which are economically important and essential for health security. It has been identified as one of the most important plant diversities for rural development. The forest areas in the state of Uttar Pradesh are very rich in variety of medicinal plant species particularly in the Vindhyan region where various medicinal plants grow naturally. But due to negligence, industrialization, overgrazing, overexploitation and ignorance and adverse climatic conditions, medicinal plant diversity of Vindhyan region is depleting very fast. Therefore, present study was conducted to document medicinal plants diversity in Vindhyan region and there threat status in the region.
