Abstract
Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) (2n =26), is a well-known oil seed crop that belongs to Pedaliaceae family. Quality of seeds at the apical part of the plant is always poor since they have not reached the physiological maturity at the stage of harvest, and stacking of plants is recommended. Nipping is the practice given to crops with indeterminate growth habit to achieve synchronized maturity and better-quality seeds. Here in the present study where nipping along with mother crop nutrition was attempted with growth regulators and different nutrients. Among the different treatments, brassinolide @ 1 ppm sprayed twice at flowering stage followed by nipping with TIBA @ 50 ppm at 70 DAS leads to prompted increase in seed yield and quality.
