Abstract
In pigeonpea [Cajanus cajan (L.) Millsp], general and specific combinig ability effects of parents and crosses were carried out for twelve yield and yield contributing charcters through line x tester analysis at Agricultural Research Station, Badnapur. The experimental materials comprised of 28 experminetal hybrids along with four lines, seven testers and standard check viz. BDN 716were evaluated in a randomized block design with two replication during kharif 2017-18. The analysis of variances revealed that there were significant differences among the parents and crosses for all the characters studied indicating considerable amount of genetic variability present in the experimental materials. The parents BDN 2004-1, BDN 2004-3, BDNHR 35-6 and BDNHR 36-3 were the good general combiners for grain yield per plant and most of the yield contributing character .The crosses BDN 2004-1 x BDNHR 35-2, BDN 2004-1 x BDNHR 35-6, BDN 2004-3 x BDNHR...
