Abstract
The study was carried out for 180 days with an objective to assess the effect of stocking density on growth of Amur Carp in Composite fish culture system. Base line reconnaissance survey was conducted to get the information regarding the existing carp culture scenario in this area. Then total three no. of fish farmers each having three no. of pond were selected and randomly divided into two comparable groups i.e. treatment in one pond as Farmers Practice (FP) / TO1 and treatment in another ponds as Recommended Practice (RP) / TO2 & TO3. The experiment included three treatments in triplicates viz. TO1: Catla (Catla catla), Rohu (Labeo rohita), Mrigal (Cirrhinus mrigal) at 40:30:30 at a stocking density of 15,000 nos/ha; TO2: Catla, Rohu, Mrigal & Amur Carp at 30:40:20:10 at a stocking density of 10,000 nos/ha; and TO3: Catla, Rohu, Mrigal & Amur Carp at 30:40:15:15. at a stocking density of 10,000 nos/ha.
