Abstract
Bajra Napier is an important fodder crop with high productivity and profitability but the requirement of high inputs such as planting material, fertilizers, transportation cost and other resources makes it less preferable among the farmers. A field experiment on effect of sett treatments on the growth, fodder yield and economics of Bajra Napier Hybrid Grass CO (BN) 5 was conducted in Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore during 2017-18 to 2018-19. The variety adapted for the study was CO (BN) 5 in a single budded planting. The field was laid on Randomized Block Design with 13 sett treatments and replicated twice with the objective of finding suitable pre planting sett treatment for better sprouting, establishment, growth, yield and economics of bajra napier.
