Abstract
Weeds are self-sown unwanted plant species growing under natural and cultivated condition with rich diversity. The present study was carried out on collected weed taxa existing in the form of herbarium from different parts of the country. These taxa were categorized, digitized and studied for their medicinal value. There was a collection of 113 species under 97 genera belonging to 31 families at ICAR-Indian Grassland and Fodder Research Institute, Jhansi (UP) India. Some of these weed species were having medicinal properties, being used against various human ailments as per available literature. Traditional uses of these weeds were documented for their efficacy and are generally believed to be safe for human consumption.
