Abstract
The Present study was conducted during 2018-19 in purposively selected Tumakuru district of Karnataka. Out of 10 taluks three taluks were selected based on maximum number of members under Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) training programmme. Two mahila mandals from each taluk and from each mahila mandal 20 members were randomely selected thus making a total sample of 120.Data were collected and analysed by using appropriate statistical tools.The results of the study revealed that majority of members belonged to young age(79.17 %), 45 per cent of members were having middle school education and majority of members were married (94.17%) and belonged to nuclear family (75.83 %).Further majority of the respondents were belonged to high category of mass media exposure (47.50%),cosmopoliteness(47.50%) and deferred gratification (40.83%) .The characteristics such as age, risk willingness, annual income and achievement motivation were found to have pos...
