Abstract
Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee (MGNREGA) Programme from Government of India was introduced to address the unemployment problems in the country. The main purpose was to provide wage based employment for the rural poor. The efforts not only empower the individuals but also make them self-sustained with the income. The study specifically focus on the women beneficiaries of MGNREGA to know their attitude towards the programme and address the main factors influencing their attitude for being employed in the activities of the programme. A total of 120 women beneficiaries sampled in the study from three taluks of Bangalore rural district to assess their attitude towards the programme. The results indicated that the women beneficiaries had neither favourable attitude not unfavourable attitude towards the programme.
