Abstract
Paddy is the major crop grown in Northern Telangana zone in around 3.33278 lk ha. As paddy is the major the crop there is a need to popularize high yielding short and medium duration varieties in paddy. This study is mainly conducted to identify the gaps/ reasons for decrease in cultivated area of two paddy varieties i.e a short duration variety Bathukamma (JGL 18047) and medium duration variety Pranahitha (JGL11727) released by regional agricultural research station, Polasa, Jagtial in Northern Telangana zone.
