Abstract
Adoption of Conservation technologies is claimed to give economic and environmental benefits to farmers and thereby widely promoted. This paper quantifies the economic benefits of resource conservation technology in soybean. The Natural Resource Evaluation (NRV) based net income was used bring out the benefits of conservation technology. The economic impact of adopting conservation technologies is studied by developing a methodology. The treatment with conservation showed higher yield and net returns in comparison to treatment without conservation. The adoption of conservation practices increased the cost of cultivation by Rs.450/ha and yield by 6 percent and net returns by 20 percent. The impact of conservation practices on the profitability of soybean crop was assessed under economic prices as well as under natural resource valuation (NRV) method also.
