Abstract
In this study, an attempt has been made to study cost, returns and profitability of chick pea in Bhandara district of Maharashtra State. Thepresent study was based on primary data collected on different aspects of cost of cultivation, cost of production, returns and profitability inchick pea. The primary data was collected by survey method from 90 chick pea growers of Bhandara district and data pertained for the year2021-22. The study revealed that, the cost of cultivation at Cost C3 was highest for large farmers (i.e. Rs. 55880.78) followed by mediumfarmers (Rs. 52475.88) and Small farmers (Rs. 47090.29) respectively. At overall level, it was Rs. 53887.88 per ha. The gross return fromchick pea production for overall average size group was Rs. 89570.04 per hectare.
