Abstract Solar photovoltaic systems are now the most efficient way to convert solar energy into electricity. To harness the solar energy efficient way itis needed to understand the basics of SPV and conversion of solar energy into electricity. The performance of SPV module is affected variablyby solar radiation and location specific conditions. To assess the same a portable setup has been designed and developed. This research papersprovides design and development of portable test setup for evaluating performance characteristics of Solar Photovoltaic modules.
