Abstract
Field and laboratory studies were carried out to assess the comparative efficiency of seven priming techniques on seed yield and seed quality of blackgram (Vigna mungo L. Hepper). The variety Rashmi was hydrated with 50 ppm GA3 and surface drying at room temperature (12 hours) was recorded highest yield parameter viz., number clusters per plant (20.50 and 17.73), number of pods per cluster (6.66 and 6.00), number of pods per plant (97.81 and 91.67), pod length (6.17 and 5.98 cm), number of seeds per pod (8.00 and 7.87), bulk seed yield per plot (0.453 and 0.393 kg), graded seed yield per plot (0.381 and 0.360 kg) and seed yield (1340 and 1236 kg ha-1 ) respectively and seed quality parameters viz., germination (94.33 and 90.00 %), root length (15.07 and 14.07 cm), shoot length (12.32 and 12.08 cm), mean seedling length (27.58 and 27.33 cm) mean seedling dry weight (34.46 and 28.33 mg), seedling vigour index-I (2602 and 2577) and seedl...
