Abstract
Adenium obesum is an attractive succulent shrub with a stout swollen stem, grayish bark and striking pink flowers, this study highlights micropropagation of Adenium obesum through tissue culture techniques. It belongs to the Apocynaceae family. The study was aim to develop Reliable and reproducible protocols to get healthy and well formed plants from leaf disk explants of the Adenium obesum has been developed. MS medium supplemented with different concentrations of (1.0 – 4.5 mg/l) BAP + (1.0 mg/l NAA) and (0.5 – 3.0 mg/l) BAP + (0.5 – 3.0 mg/l) 2, 4 - D. MS medium supplemented with 3.5 mg/l BAP + 1.0 mg/l NAA gives good callus formation (350.05 mg/explants) with highest regeneration frequency (55 %) from leaf disk explant whitish yellow and firable texture. MS basal medium fortified with 1.0 mg/l BAP showed the maximum response to regeneration via calli inducing an average of 04 shoot buds per culture within 4-6 weeks with high...
