Abstract
As in all art fields, the success of artistic expression in ceramic art; determines the bond between design, material, and shaping. Many factors directly or indirectly affect the relationship between these elements. The purpose of this article; is to examine the necessity of being related to the design, the clay to be used, and the shaping method to be applied in the creation process of ceramic art. In this context, the interrelationship of factors such as the importance of the design during the process, the characteristics of the selected clay (plasticity, firing degree, firing color, etc.), the methods and techniques to be applied in shaping the clay, the experience of the artist with the clays preferred for the design and the shaping methods and techniques to be applied were evaluated.
