Abstract
Education is the process by which people acquire knowledge, skills, habits, values and attitudes. More over education also enables individual to have certain principles and belief towards life on which he/she lives by. A country once considered the land of saints and seers, the land of Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi, Rabindra Nath Tagore and many more, but now corruption, crime, violence, immorality has become contemporary features of our country. A tremendous value crisis that Indian society is facing today is due to many reasons. The present paper tries to analyze the present situation with regard to value crisis in the society and will try to suggest some remedies to overcome the situation. The role of educational institutions is going to very important with regard to providing value-based education to younger generations.
