Abstract
Dear Sir,There is a recent outbreak of the disease chickengunya inPakistan. A lot of cases have been reported out of whichmajorly are from Karachi. The increase in temperature anddeteriorating sanitary conditions of Pakistan further addsfuel to the fire by providing excellent breeding grounds forthe arthropod vectors1. Thus I am writing to your esteemedjournal to inform the readers about the disease and its possibleways of prevention.Sindh Health Department released a report which stated thata total 4,329 chikungunya suspected cases surfaced in theprovince, out of which 3,462 were from Karachi while restof the cases surfaced in Tharparkar/Mithi, Sanghar andUmerkot2.
