Abstract
Childhood sexual abuse is an issue that has gained visibility in the last few decades of the 20th century. This process is reflected in the creation of institutions and fields dedicated to the care and accompaniment of the victims of this crime, in the increase of reports, in the changes in legislation, in the media coverage and in the respective academic literature. However, and despite the efforts, there are still difficulties regarding the social consideration of this phenomenon and, above all, its judicial treatment. The purpose of this article is to analyze some of those difficulties, which not only enhance the silencing and discrediting of victims, but also cause the judicial re-victimization of children who go through criminal proceedings.
