Abstract
Cancer is a disease caused by the uncontrolled division and proliferation of abnormal cells. Cancer can spread from its origin to other parts of the body and can be fatal if not properly treated. Colon cancer cells constitute a small subpopulation of cells with in a tumour that can regenerate, so it has the potential to increase resistance to radiotherapy and chemotherapy along with tumour metastasis rates. There are many important issues that patients exposed to colon cancer should pay attention to in their diet. Colon cancer patients should have the same sensitivity to nutrition as all individuals and maintain correct nutritional habits. Malnutrition and obesity are also among the causes of colon cancer. For this reason, dietary practices have an essential place in the prevention of colon cancer.
