Abstract Leishmaniasis is one of the important tropical diseases caused by the Leishmania species protozoan parasites. In Hatay, located on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey, Cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) continues to be seen as an important public health issue. In the study; it was aimed to identify the samples taken from the lesions of patients with suspected CL, Giemsa staining method, in-vitro culture, typing the samples evaluated as positive in culture, cryopreservation and creating a Biobank (Cryobank). Smears prepared from the lesion of 40 CL suspected patients who applied to the Family Community Health Centers of Hatay Province (Such as Altınözü, Antakya Center (Kırıkhan, Samandağ)) were stained with Giemsa staining method and evaluated for the presence of amastigotes.
