Abstract
The progress of civilization is something that cannot be avoided. The industrial revolution 4.0 era brought a lot of progress and benefits for human life. But like a double-edged sword, the progress of this era is also slowly eroding local wisdom which is rich of noble value. The progress of the civilization has created opportunities as well as threats in order to preserve the local wisdom. In this term, as an example, it can threaten the marsiadapari tradition in the Toba Batak community. Simply put, marsiadapari is a tradition of gotong royong, which nowadays is starting to fade in the life of the Toba people. To revive this local wisdom, the authors saw an opportunity by constructing a local theology which could later be called the Marsiadapari Theology.
