Abstract
This article sheds theoretical light on the key concepts of our doctoral research on parental practices and the risk of dropping out of school among adolescents. This clarification is important because it constitutes one of the bases of the theoretical validity of the results of the study. Three concepts are explained in this article, in addition to the link between parental practices and the risk of dropping out: (1) parental practices, (2) dropping out of school and (3) adolescence.
