Abstract
The present investigation was conducted in the Parbhani town of Maharashtra state. A purposive random sampling was followed to select sixty highschool going boys and girls between 13 - 16 yrs. age who were using school bags. Thirty boys and 30 girls each studying in high school (8th, 9th, and10th standards) were selected for this study. The mean per cent weight of school bag of boys and girls was 22.53 per cent and 23.5 per cent respectively.Majority of boys and girls carry school bag on both the shoulder, positioned at upper back (56.66 % and 63.33 % respectively). Majority of boys andgirls had school bag with adjustable strips and zips having placement of shoulder straps adjacent to each other. Majority of boys and girls (56.66 %and 66.66%) always felt their school bag was heavy and mean score of perceived exertion of boys was moderately exerting and girls it was veryexerting.
