Abstract
A Field experiment was conducted at Main Cotton Research Station Athwa farm, Navsari Agricultural University, Surat (Gujarat) duringkharif season 2020-21 entitled Effect of different level of sulphur on biochemical characters of cotton. Seven treatments of three levels withtwo different fertilizers were tried in randomized block design with three replications. The result revealed that application of differenttreatments was significantly improved Biochemical parameters such as protein, free amino acid, total chlorophyll, chlorophyll a andchlorophyll b were highest in 60 kg S/ha by elemental sulphur and total soluble sugar (TSS), reducing sugar (RS), antioxidant enzymaticactivity (POD, SOD), tannin, total phenol and gossypol content were increased by application of 40 kg S/ha fertilizer either gypsum orelemental sulphur as compared to other treatments in both the source of sulphur.
