Abstract
Proper utilization and efficient development of the limited water resources is the milestone for food security for the entire world. Microirrigation technology facilitates improvement in water saving, water use efficiency, yield of the crop, investment in and short paybackperiods. The input use, costs and returns under micro-irrigation technologies have been estimated in present study. The comparativeeconomics of cotton cultivation using micro-irrigation technology and surface irrigation method was estimated from 60 adopter and 60 nonadopter farmers of Dhule and Nandurbar districts of Maharashtra, India. The use of hired human labours and fertilizers was foundmaximum in micro-irrigated farms than conventionally irrigated farms indicating that input resources on micro-irrigated cotton farms wereused more efficiently than the conventionally irrigated farms. The Cost A1, Cost B1, Cost B2 and Cost C3 was estimated to Rs.69,007.43,Rs.71,75...
